This is something I've been meaning to do for a while, but a request from a newish member of Terribly Late for recs is what finally got my butt into gear. Stories will be seperated by author, and are in no particular order. Maybe when I'm a bit more ambitious I'll alphabetize them, but really, as I said, the list for now is still smallish. With how many wonderful writers there are in the com I'm sure that will change.

A modern take on Alice, Tarrant, and their varying forms of madness feature in this pair of well-written and vivid fics. Both are WiPs, but are entirely comprehensible even unfinished.Despite the fact that Spark is a prequel, I'd recommend reading Embers first.

Seven Maids

Hippie's answer to the Drunk!Tarrant challenge. A still-drunk Tarrant retraces his steps from the celebration of the night before, trying to remember what it was that he remembers just enough of that he wishes he could forget it again.

A dark look at a Tarrant who has to live with the Idea that Alice will never come back.

Just read everything here. Seriously, it doesn't matter what story it is, you'll enjoy it. If you have even a small smidgeon of a shipper in your heart, Manny will satisfy. Her ongoing One Promise Kept series is nothing short of Epic.

For anyone who is of the school of thought (like me) that Underland is a faerie sithin, this story will thrill you down to your toes. A plot revolving around a venegful Iracebeth, a lusting Knave, Pi, and the Gates of Horn and Ivory, and...oh, there are just so many wonderful elements to this fic. Uses Carroll's fondness of mathematical riddles to great effect.

A WiP that I literally squee over when I see it's been updated. Alice agrees to stay in Underland just a little while longer, causing the Hatter joy at the idea she's staying for him, and pain when he confronts the memories of his life prior to Horvendush Day, and the inevitability of her departure.

Reincarnated Alice and Hamish are best mates. Hatter has been waiting a very long time for Alice in an Underland poised to face another dark threat. Hilarious characterizations, wry turns of phrase, and breathtaking OCs define this fic. A Must Read in the fandom if for no other reason than to introduce one to the concept of the MHP. Praise him!

The events of the novels, film, and a bit beyond, told from Tarrant's POV. Riveting, with an interesting theory on what Underland actually is thrown in for flavor.

I Love My Love

Alice doesn't remember Underland, and one day she sees strange creatures having terrible fun in her Looking Glass. She goes through. The footnotes and sheer amount of nursery rhymes in this fic are enough to give it a look, but it is well-written and characterized as well.
